Why Sports Media Group is a social enterprise dedicated to getting more people active across the UK. We seek to ensure greater participation in UK sports, leisure and physical activity from all areas of society regardless of gender, age, faith, ethnic origin, sexual orientation, economic position, disability or level of ability.
As a registered Social Enterprise we endeavour to assist a number of organisations to increase activity. Our commitment has seen us invest in community groups, County Sports Partnerships, coaching programmes, the provision of sports equipment and a number of key charities that are working hard to accelerate activity across the nation.
Since 2015 the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, Sport England, Public Health England, Street Games, Department for Transport, CSP Network, ukactive, UK Sport and many more have partnered with Why Sports to produce our Why Sports conferences. Our conference model provides a platform for exchanging ideas, inform strategies, advancing agendas and network with the brightest minds that promote better health through activity.
We believe that sport and physical activity has the power to unite people, build relationships, transform lives and positively engage disadvantaged communities. Investing in sport at all levels can only help to advocate and nurture young talent whilst developing skills, breaking down social barriers and creating a healthy society.
To ensure that we deliver on our pledge we will continue to bring policy makers, governing bodies, local authorities, coaches, volunteers, the private sector and the many more influencers across the sector to network, debate and transfer knowledge to ensure we have a nation that is proud to participate at all levels of sport, leisure and physical activity.
